Ever since childhood, I’ve loved music, especially songs of praise. I’d sit for hours with my mother’s Beautiful Bible Stories and sing the songs in the back. I didn’t always understand all the words, but singing them comforted me nonetheless. It was like having Jesus in the same room with me. I sang I Love to Tell the Story, Rock of Ages and, of course all the Christmas hymns, with enthusiasm, if not with skill."Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" (Psalm 47:1) could have been my motto.
Today I am older, I suppose wiser, but in this one area I haven’t changed. I still love to listen to and sing worship songs. While some contemporary Christian music hurts my ears, t ...
